Wrangell - St. Elias

Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is a protected wilderness area located in the southcentral region of the state of Alaska, United States. It is the largest national park in the United States, covering an area of approximately 13.2 million acres. The park is known for its stunning mountains, glaciers, and abundant wildlife.

The park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including grizzly bears, wolves, and a variety of bird species. It is also home to several indigenous communities, who have lived in the region for thousands of years.

Visitor Season
May - September.  Snow starts falling by the end of September.

Weather in this region can change at any moment.  It is highly encouraged to bring good quality gear to keep you warm and dry.

Park Activities
This park is pire wilderness.  The park does not maintain any trails within the backcountry of this park.  The mission of this park is for its visitors to "figuring out one's on route".  Expert level backpacker is required for this trip.
