Joshua Tree National Park is a protected area located in the Mojave and Colorado deserts of southern California. The park is named after the iconic Joshua tree, a type of yucca plant that is native to the region and is featured prominently throughout the park.
The park is known for its unique and striking landscape, which features towering rock formations, jagged peaks, and sweeping vistas. It is home to a variety of plant and animal life, including the Joshua tree, as well as desert tortoises, rattlesnakes, and over 250 species of birds.
There are a number of popular hiking trails in the park, including the Lost Horse Mine Trail, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding desert, and the Barker Dam Nature Trail, which is known for its abundant plant life and wildlife. The park is also popular with rock climbers, who come from all over the world to scale the park's impressive rock formations.
In addition to its natural beauty, Joshua Tree National Park is also home to a number of cultural and historical sites, including the Cholla Cactus Garden, which features a wide variety of cactus species, and the Keys Ranch, which was once home to a pioneer family and is now a popular tourist attraction.

Joshua Tree is prone to strong winds and flash flooding during any season, it is best to be prepared for any type of extreme weather.
