Grand Canyon National Park is a protected area located in the state of Arizona in the United States. It is home to the iconic Grand Canyon, a natural wonder that is considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The Grand Canyon is a deep, steep-sided gorge carved by the Colorado River over the course of millions of years. It is about 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide, and reaches a depth of over a mile (1.6 km) at its deepest point. The park also contains many other geological features, such as desert landscapes, forests, and a diverse array of plant and animal life. It is a popular destination for tourists, who come to hike, camp, and take part in other outdoor activities. The park is also home to several Native American tribes, who have lived in the area for thousands of years and have a long history of cultural and spiritual connections to the land.
