Trail Information
Yansing Gulch (previously Chinamen Gulch) is a popular off-road trail located in the Arkansas River Valley near Buena Vista, Colorado. It's known for its challenging terrain, and is situated within the larger Fourmile Recreation Area - a part of the larger network of off-road trails in the region. Due to little snowfall, this trail is often a good option for winter wheeling, but always make sure to check current conditions before heading out.
The trailhead for Lansing Gulch is located near the town of Buena Vista, which is about 2.5 to 3 hours southwest of Denver, Colorado. Access to the trailhead is typically via County Road 301.
Features
This trail offers a diverse range of terrain, including rocky sections, steep climbs, tight squeezes between boulders, and various obstacles that challenge both the driver's skills and the vehicle's capabilities. Yansing Gulch is not as scenic as some of the other well-known trail in Colorado, but it has a tremendous amount to offer to drivers looking for a more technical challenge. If that's not enough, it can be combined with Carnage Canyon for an extreme challenge and a day you'll be certain to remember.
Difficultly
Yansing Gulch is considered a difficult to extreme trail. It's recommended for experienced off-road drivers who are familiar with maneuvering through technical terrain. It's advisable to have a properly equipped and capable four-wheel-drive vehicle to navigate the obstacles safely.
