Park Information
The Iron Range Off-Highway Vehicle State Recreation Area is a state-run recreation area located in Minnesota. The 1200+ acre area is situated in the northeastern part of the state, just down the road from the town of Gilbert.
Iron range features an extensive network of OHV trails and routes that wind through the scenic Iron Range landscape. These trails cater to various riding experiences, from easy and family-friendly paths to more challenging terrain for experienced riders. The area supports a wide range of off-road vehicle types, including ATVs, motorcycles, UTVs, and full-size rigs.

- May through Labor Day: open 8 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., seven days a week.
- Labor Day through October: open 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., seven days a week.
- Closed during the Minnesota firearms deer hunting season, typically the first three weeks of November.
- Late November through April: open 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Staffing may be limited - call ahead. Weekend parking and trail access is in nearby Gilbert
