Park Information
Lassen Volcanic National Park is a protected area located in the Cascade Range of northeastern California. The park is known for its volcanic landscape, which includes a number of active and dormant volcanoes, as well as hot springs, geysers, and mud pots. It is home to a variety of plant and animal life, including mountain lions, black bears, and over 200 species of birds.
There are a number of popular hiking trails in the park, including the Lassen Peak Trail, which takes visitors to the top of Lassen Peak, the highest point in the park, and the Bumpass Hell Trail, which takes visitors to a geothermal area with steam vents, boiling pools, and bubbling mud pots. The park is also popular with backcountry hikers and campers, who come from all over the world to explore its rugged and remote wilderness.
