Park Information
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is located on the island of Hawaii. The park covers an area of 323,431 acres and was established on August 1, 1916. It is home to two of the most active volcanoes in the world: Kīlauea and Mauna Loa. The park is known for its diverse and unique landscapes, which include rainforests, deserts, and lava fields. The park also has a rich cultural history, with many important sites and artifacts related to the Native Hawaiian people. Visitors to the park can hike, bike, or drive through the park and explore the many trails and scenic viewpoints, as well as visit the visitor center and museum to learn more about the park's geology and history.

Weather varies widely on the summit of the volcanoes. You can expect rain and for it to be chilly within a day. Wear layered clothing that can keep you warm and dry.
